Process of
Counselling: -
For admission to postgraduate management programs at several IIMs and
other top B-schools in India, the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs)
administer the CAT (Common Admission Test), a national-level management
entrance test. For CAT, there isn't a centralised counselling procedure,
though. Rather, each participating institute runs its own selection procedure,
which may include candidate selection and counselling. The following steps are
often included in the selection procedure:
·
Candidates
will be shortlisted for the screening process by each participating institute
based on their CAT scores. The candidates who made the short list will be
contacted for subsequent rounds of selection.
·
Group
discussion, written ability test, and personal interview The written ability
test (WAT), group discussion (GD), and personal interview (PI) are required of
the shortlisted candidates. These exams are designed to evaluate a candidate's
interpersonal skills, analytical prowess, and general personality.
·
Final
Selection: Based on the candidate's performance in the CAT exam, WAT/GD/PI,
academic background, work experience, and other pertinent variables, the
participating institutes will create a merit list. Admission will be made
available to applicants who fulfil the cut-off standards and are highly rated
on the merit list.
·
Counselling
and Document Verification: The candidate must report to the institute for
counselling and document verification as soon as they receive the admissions
offer. The candidates will need to have their authentic documents with them for
validation.
·
Payment of
costs: To confirm their admission after the document verification process,
candidates must pay the admission costs within the allotted time.
Each participating institute may have a different selection procedure,
thus it is crucial for applicants to research the procedures of the institutes
they want to apply to.
