Process of
Counselling: -
For admission to its different design programs, including the Bachelor
of Design (B. Des.), Master of Design (M. Des.), and Master of Science (M.S.) in
Design, the MIT Institute of Design administers the MIT Institute of Design
Aptitude Test (DAT), a common entrance exam.
Selected applicants are invited to the counselling procedure after the
DAT exam results are announced. Typically, there are several rounds of
interviews, portfolio evaluations, and other types of assessment used in the
MIT DAT counselling process.
The candidate's originality, creative prowess, capacity for critical thought, and likelihood of succeeding in the program are assessed during the counselling process. The goal of the counselling process is to assist candidates in choosing the program that best meets their interests and objectives by assisting them in understanding program requirements, course structure, and career options.
Selected candidates may be invited for a second interview or a portfolio review after the initial round of interviews and portfolio reviews. Final judgments are often based on a range of criteria, including the applicant's academic standing, design aptitude, originality, and general program fit.
Congratulations if you have been chosen to participate in the MIT DAT
counselling process! Further details regarding the counselling procedure and
how to get ready for your studies at the MIT Institute of Design will be sent
to you. I advise getting in touch with the MIT Institute of Design admissions
office for more information if you have any particular queries or worries.
