Process of Counselling: -

The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is an annual entrance exam held for admission to the integrated M.Sc. program in basic sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology) at the University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai and the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar.

·       The qualifying candidates must take part in the counselling process for seat allocation after the NEST exam results are announced. The following steps are part of the counselling process:

·       Registration: Candidates who have passed the NEST exam must visit the NEST website to register for the counselling process.

·       Choice Filling: After registering, candidates must enter the institutions and courses they wish to enroll in. The options must be filled out in the preferred order.

·       Seat Allotment: The candidates' choices and rankings are taken into consideration when allotting seats. The allocation of seats is done in accordance with the candidates' preferences and the order of merit.

·       Payment of Fees: Candidates must pay the fees after seats are assigned in order to secure their admission. The fees can be paid online with a credit card, debit card, or net banking.

·       Last but not least, candidates must appear at the institute where they have been assigned a seat. They must have all necessary paperwork and certifications with them for verification.

Candidates who do not receive a seat in the first round of the NEST counselling process may still participate in the subsequent rounds. The entire counselling process takes place online, so candidates must regularly check the NEST website for news and notifications pertaining to the counselling process.
